The Center for Inclusive Growth, in collaboration with Mayor Justin Elicker and local leaders, officially launched a strategic planning process to develop a vision for inclusive growth in New Haven.

The city of New Haven is kicking off its development of a “first-of-its kind” initiative that aims to create a more equitable future for residents.

Yale and New Haven announce a six-year commitment to increase the university’s voluntary financial contributions to the city and promote inclusive growth.

“[The center] will examine, develop, implement new strategies for growing the city’s economy and do that, as its name suggests, in a way that is inclusive – in a way that helps everyone rise up,” Salovey said. “I think there is a shared understanding that inclusive growth is what we need to focus on and it’s crucial to the city’s success and future.”

A local champion of entrepreneurial equity has been chosen to to lead the New Haven-focused “Center for Inclusive Growth” that Yale promised to build in 2021 — and now will start trying to define two years later.

The new executive director of the Center for Inclusive Growth, created by the city and Yale to develop ways to spread the benefits of economic growth to all New Haven residents, including those in neighborhoods beyond downtown, is a passionate entrepreneur dedicated to generating opportunities for others.
